Bertus Campher of Cape Town, South Africa, is the recent winner of a new 2008 Helix kite. As the first kite released in the Naish Sigma Series, the Helix has been the most talked about kite this season.

When told that he was the winner, Campher couldn't believe it. "I have read and re-read your email as this seems to good to be true. It was my birthday on the 27th of September as well so this is a perfect present!"

Female Speed world record holder Sjoukje Bredenkamp (SA) broke her own world record this week in Namibia.  Her 38.45 knot run destroyed her old mark of 37.34 by more than a knot!
In the 30+ knots of wind, all of the racers competing broke the existing world records, both male and female.
Manu Taub (FRA), with a run of 43.69 knots, broke the existing world record of 41.79 knots by almost two knots.  He finished third on the day as the world record was pushed to 44.55 knots on the first day of competition.

The Helix, Cult, Alliance, and Torch will be available for testing in Italy for the next few weeks.  Italian team rider and legend Mirco Babini will be touring the country with an RV full of Naish gear for the next few weeks.
Naish International's Ben Meyer will also be along for the second half of the trip, so if you want to try the new Sigma Series kites, look at the schedule below and come out for the demos.
